Dr. Stein graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 2006. She was then awarded a Residency in paediatric dentistry at the Hospital for Sick Children, where she received certification in this field. After working at a large and busy practice in Scarborough for seven years, she decided to open Centenary Dental with Dr. Tali Waksman to combine the best aspects of both of their past work experiences.
Dr. Stein’s patients remain loyal to her because of her bubbly personality, gentle and caring approach and the excellent care that she provides. She provides personalized care to each patient by explaining the risks and benefits of different treatment options in an honest way and involving her patients in their own care. Every patient is treated as if they are a close family member.
Dr. Stein performs all aspects of dentistry with a focus on preventative, paediatrics, restorative (fillings, crowns, veneers), prosthodontics (implants, bridges, dentures). She loves working with people of all ages from children to the elderly. Dr. Waksman graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 2003. She was then awarded a Residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where she received specialized training in all aspects of dentistry with a focus on complicated dental cases and medically compromised patients. She also worked as the only dentist on a native reserve servicing a community of 2000 people. After working at three large and busy practices in Scarborough, Whitby and Ajax, she decided to open Centenary Dental with Dr. Stacey Stein to combine the best aspects of both of their past work experiences.
Dr. Waksman’s patients adore her because of her warm and friendly personality, attention to detail, calming bedside manner and gentle approach. Dr. Melissa Goodman earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2006. During her training, she participated in an externship in Paris, France, and was the recipient of numerous awards for clinical and academic achievements. Upon graduation, she was selected to participate in a one-year residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto where she performed all aspects of dentistry, with an emphasis on patients with complex medical problems. She went on to complete her specialty certificate in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at New York University graduating in 2010. Her high standing there won her the clinical award for excellence in postgraduate Periodontics. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
As a board-certified Periodontist, Dr. Goodman's scope of practice includes the non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal diseases, periodontal tissue regeneration and periodontal soft tissue grafting. She also has extensive training in the surgical placement of dental implants, including immediate implants, bone grafting (including guided bone regeneration and maxillary sinus augmentation), complicated extractions and soft tissue grafting to enhance the esthetics around dental implants. Dr. Goodman believes in prevention first and foremost. She strives to provide her patients with the best treatment options available, focusing on what is necessary for their long-term oral health.
In her spare time she travels, exercises and spends time with her 3 kids.
Dr. Ryan Margel, DMD, MS, FRCD(C) is our Endodontist who specializes in root canals. Originally from Toronto, he graduated with distinction from York University with a major in Mathematics. In 2009, Dr. Margel obtained his dental degree from The University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to work as a general dentist for two years prior to embarking on a two-year specialty program at Marquette University in Endodontics. His Masters thesis investigated the anatomical complexities of molar root canals. Dr. Margel is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, traveling, and spending time with his two daughters.
