We want you to feel relaxed during all of your dental procedures. To achieve this, Dr. Stein and Dr. Waksman offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as a form of conscious sedation. This means that you will be relaxed while still being able to communicate. People who get anxious about receiving dental treatment find that it “takes the edge off” or “takes them to their happy place.”

Nitrous sedation can do the following:

1. Relax generally anxious dental patients.
2. Help children settle for a procedure.
3. Alleviate a sensitive gag reflex and make taking x-rays tolerable when they have never been before!

Nitrous oxide wears off within 3 to 5 minutes after administration has stopped. You will be assessed after the procedure and most likely be discharged unaccompanied.
